Ukraine
Russian-Ukrainian War
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and introduced troops into the country. Peaceful Ukrainian cities woke up to missile strikes, the enemy broke through the border in several directions and tried to land near Kiev for a quick takeover of the capital.
In one day, Russian tanks and soldiers rapidly advanced deep into Ukraine and proceeded to shell military installations, residences, and seize infrastructure. Thousands of people across Ukraine fled their homes. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians stood up to defend their sovereignty and independence.
Despite the fact that no one believed that Ukraine could withstand the aggressor, Ukrainians have been fighting and defending freedom, democratic values and security of the world for more than a year. We could not stand aside and from April 2022 we started helping Ukrainians and are doing it to this day.
The battle to take Bahkmut in Eastern Ukraine remains fierce with Russian soldiers advancing. Heal-Corp is preparing medical support ahead of an anticipated Spring offensive. Once again the need to train, equip and provide emergency medical care to both wounded soldiers and civilians is emergent.
The Government of Ukraine has requested Heal-Corp provide an emergency field hospital consisting of two operating rooms and one medical and surgical critical care unit. Additionally, we will address Radiology, a Bio containment unit in case of bioterrorism or chemical weapons. It will be staffed with trauma surgeons, critical care physicians, nurses and paramedics both from the United States and Ukraine.
Additionally, we are working with the Government of Ukraine to offer skills conversion courses to enable a pipeline of international medical practitioners to deploy fast, where they are needed most.
OUR ACTIVITY IN UKRAINE
HEAL-CORP & ACADEMY COOPERATION, KYIV
Having seen the devastating loss of life due to preventable death, we have focused on effecting systemic educational change.
The Ukrainian Ministry for Internal Affairs has selected HEAL as the sole US 501(c)3 permitted to offer a new comprehensive curriculum, processing 50 students every 6 weeks in conjunction with multiple National Academies.
Our specialist Doctors and Disaster Medicine teams have created an in depth, ‘gold standard’ curriculum; 6 weeks immersive training, covering all stages of evacuation from point of injury to Role 3.
In contrast to the 5 day TCCC course frequently offered on ground, HEAL’s new course seeks to provide an exponential effect on quality of output, serving to thoroughly ‘train the trainers’.
HEAL-CORP CASEVAC PROCESS, DONBASS
We are working to implement CASEVAC chains across the Eastern front, forming an informed umbrella organization to offer guidance, qualified surgeons, medics and equipment addressing ongoing needs and providing a cohesive approach, from rapidly deployable field hospitals to armored ambulances.
Russian aggression results in regular direct attacks on health care infrastructure including hospitals and stabilization points, as well as widespread damage to medical vehicles and staff. Ukrainian doctors, nurses and medics continue to work tirelessly – often on 24 hour shifts with very limited equipment.
Heal-Corp will send physicians and nurses to assist as well as mobile clinics to visit liberated areas and treat the civilian population and offer psychological support for PTSD related problems.
Support Us and Change the Course of a Life Today!
Heal-Corp invites you to be a part of an organization that not only knows what is needed during a crisis, but has the boots on the ground to get it directly where it needs to be. Currently our focus is on the war in Ukraine and securing vital resources for both military personnel and civilians.
The people we support are in dire need of medical supplies, and therefore, cash donations are most appreciated so we can leverage our provider networks to get the items needed at the best price, where and when it is needed. No donation is too small because it all adds up. Think about your daily regimen to keep yourself healthy and functioning and then imagine not having access to it for even one week. Every single dollar will be put to work. We have a logistical task force at the ready to enable us to directly deliver these supplies to the people who need them.
Summary
Russia has invaded Ukraine in the biggest state-against-state attack since World War II. Millions of civilians are caught in the middle of an escalating war and humanitarian crisis, and casualties are rising. Your donation to this fund will support Ukrainians in need, with a focus on the most vulnerable, including children
Challenge
Full-scale war in Ukraine is having catastrophic consequences. More than 4 million people have fled Ukraine in response to Russia's invasion. Millions more are displaced within the country, making this the fastest-growing refugee crisis in Europe. Eight years of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine had already created a humanitarian crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic is an added challenge for communities where violence and uncertainty takes a heavy toll
Solution
All donations to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will support humanitarian assistance in impacted communities in Ukraine and surrounding regions where Ukrainian refugees have fled.
